The summit of Binsey is interesting - it used to have a tumulus on it, which has now been raised and its stones used to build several wind shelters. As Binsey is exposed to the north, there being no other summits near it, it tends to get very windy at the top. The shelters provide welcome relief.

The view from the summit is excellent - it is a great place to look at the larger Northern Fells, and also affords views of Scotland.
